i get excruciating pain in one ear when i go under water even a foot. i busted an eardrum water skiing a while back and it never healed properly. i recently went snorkeling and thought i would give these a try. i was concerned by the size chart because it didn't seem like they were snug enough, but the fit was actually perfect. i was able to dive down about 15 feet with no real problems. no water in my ears and i was able to equalize the pressure. this was the best purchase i made in preparation for my trip. suggestion: i tied the plugs to the back of my mask incase they fell out. they never did.
