The recommended setting is in Sport mode. This prevents using a flash and is good to 30ft or less if the light is poor ( the flash is disabled in sport)
Focus is slow. You can't set a fixed focus.
The housing off gasses a lot of moisture. (put the camera and the open housing inside a large ziplock with a big desiccant bag the night before and use AntiFog on the lens and LCD viewing window)
In user defined mode you can use the flash.
A pre flash is fired first for exposure. Fish don't understand they have to wait for the second flash so you get a lot of pictures of rocks.
