Bought for Lionfish hunting. Figure I don't need a gun with tons of range or penetration. So far I've been right!
I like the aluminum handle on this model, unlike the "Carbine" line. Craftsmanship is a bit iffy IMO (roll pin holding safety in place a bit distorted, safety travel downward stopped simply by the aluminum housing, in my case a bit of a groove worn there now) but again, the improvements over the Carbine series are vast. It has not failed me.
Line retention is positive. Once in place, no holding it there ala Carbine. I bought auto coiling line, and think it better for rapid re-loading.
Spear shaft has two notches for the band.
Recommend trident tip (not paralyzer) for adequate penetration at any distance, which is not much with this gun of course.
Will fit in UK dive bag with fins/mask/snorkel by taking off butt with two phillips screws.
