Much Improved over old design
This speargun was rebuilt from the ground up. Most notable is the trigger, grip and ONE PIECE stock. The shaft was also changed to fit this new trigger sear and apparently Mori and Riffe shafts will fit it. Rumor has it that Bill Kitto assisted JBL with the trigger design. That is a BIG ++++.
The trigger looks beefy and smooth, allegedly having 1/4" internal components-that beats stamped sheet metal any day! The grip is comfortable and also well built. Trigger safety is very simple but appears well thought out and positively locks into the engaged and disengaged positions.
I haven't had it in the water yet, so that is the only reason for not giving it 5*. I really do believe that the new owner of JBS is trying to make some positive changes for the better with this company.
I was impressed enough with the gun to also purchase the ELITE version of this gun. That one has the shark fin shaft, soft dynema wishbones, mono shooting line and the open muzzle.
