Watch Mode
There are plenty of functions in the Mares Sirius Dive Computer. The functions are grouped into two categories, each corresponding to a specific mode of operation. When you're on the surface the computer is in Watch Mode. In this Watch Mode, you can use it as a normal watch. You can also change settings, review your logbook, use the dive planner, see remaining desaturation after a dive, download to a smartphone, and much more! The Sirius can communicate via low-power Bluetooth and the apps MARES or MySSI directly to a smartphone to transfer logbook information or to perform firmware upgrades. To initiate a Bluetooth connection, select BLUETOOTH from the main menu, then start the Mares or MySSI app on your smartphone and follow the instructions.
Dive Mode
Sirius monitors depth, time, and temperature and performs all decompression calculations; dive mode itself can be broken down into 4 sub-categories: pre-dive, dive, surfacing, and post-dive.
Safety Features
During a dive, divers rely on their dive computer to provide critical information such as depth, dive time, decompression status, and no-decompression limits. The readability of the display ensures that divers can easily access and understand this crucial data, allowing them to monitor their dive parameters accurately and make informed decisions for a safe ascent and decompression. Diving can be mentally demanding, and divers may encounter challenging situations. A dive computer with a clear and easy-to-read display reduces stress and cognitive load by providing critical information in a straightforward, accessible manner, even during more challenging dive scenarios.
Rechargeable Battery
The Sirius uses a rechargeable battery. A full charge allows you up to 30 hours of diving*/ 500 recharge cycles (30 hours without a transmitter), depending on the usage of the backlight and the temperature of the water. If during a dive the battery level drops to 15%, Sirius will display a low battery warning. When this appears, you should start your final ascent to the surface.
