The Mares Epic 82X regulator is the newest regulator available from Mares, this regulator includes a first stage (Din or Yoke) and second stage. The Epic 82X is a superior ultra-high airflow system which offers maximum performance in cold water conditions. This set is a high-performance regulator which is designed for cold diving conditions, the first and second stage work together well to give you effortless breathing and perform well in cold waters. The Mares Epic 82X regulator had an advanced first stage which is paired with a balanced second stage.
The first stage has a swivel turret and can come in either DIN or Yoke which is a great choice for divers. The first stage features the latest Auto Sealing Technology (AST) which keeps water and dust out of the first stage during cleaning and storage. This first stage includes 2 high-pressure ports which you can attach a wireless transmitter or a gauge to. Not only does the first stage feature 2 high-pressure ports but there is also there is 5 low-pressure ports (4 rotate) which supply the inflator and any 2nd stages, the 4 ports which rotate give you better control of the angle of the hoses even in the water.
The second stage is designed and built to work more efficiently in cold water conditions. This second stage includes Mares bypass tube that controls the airflow into the second stage. You can adjust the amount of gas that you receive with a normal or supercharged setting, you can also adjust breathing resistance which changes how hard or easy it is to open the valve when you breathe in. This second stage features a purge button on the front which is easy to use and control, this allows you to control exactly how much gas will purge and how strong. If you are looking for a little fresh air you can push the purge button which will open the valve all the way.
