TURN YOUR COMMS UPSIDE DOWN...The iconic OTS MK7 Just got better. Life changing...? We think so...PURPOSE-BUILT
The BMD MK7 OPS HARNESS finally allows you and your team to safely, securely and comfortably wear the MK7 BUDDY LINE COMM UNIT any way you want... Period.
The BMD MK7 OPS HARNESS solves the problem of fumbling around with your portable comms.
The OTS MK 7 Ops Harness (SKU: 200054-000) is a highly durable, specialized chest and body harness designed by Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) in collaboration with Black Mask Divers (BMD). It is built specifically for surface tenders, Search and Rescue (SAR) teams, and public safety dive units to securely and comfortably carry the OTS MK-7 Buddy-Line portable surface intercom unit.
The BMD MK7 OPS HARNESS solves the problem of fumbling around with your portable comms. Our harness carries the MK7 in either a traditional right side up orientation or, UPSIDE DOWN. Flipping the unit upside down finally allows the comm lines to naturally hang down and away from the tender.
Like a SAR radio harness, the MK7 can now be worn in a diagonal orientation across the chest. It will always stay secure where you want it with easier access to volume controls in a more secure, comfortable system. Just adjust the bottom shoulder strap clip for left or right side hang.
The shoulder strap is built to fit over any PFD and it has a quick release emergency Fastex buckle so you can ditch the harness in seconds. When carried in the traditional right side up position, comm lines can be thrown over the tender's shoulder and secured in the shoulder strap pad for a super secure and comfortable carry.
The MK7 OPS HARNESS also has a laser cut Molle back panel so you can mount it to virtually anything including a dive weight belt, tac belt or duty belt... Just take the shoulder strap off.
Best Suited For: Public safety dive teams, police/fire rescue tenders, military tactical operations, and commercial dive supervisors who utilize hardwired surface-to-diver intercoms and require a hands-free, ergonomic solution for managing surface communications.
1. Dual-Orientation Carrying Options
The standout feature of the MK 7 Ops Harness is its ability to mount the MK-7 intercom unit in two different ways, giving surface support operators ultimate flexibility:
The "Upside Down" Method (Operational Favorite): By flipping the MK-7 unit upside down in the harness, the communication lines (ComRope) naturally hang downward and away from the operator. This eliminates fumbling, reduces the risk of rope entanglement, and provides immediate, easy access to the volume controls.
Traditional "Right Side Up" Method: Allows the unit to sit in a standard vertical orientation. The heavy communication lines can be thrown over the tender's shoulder and securely held in place by the integrated shoulder strap pad.
2. Multi-Configurable Wear Styles
Chest/SAR Rig Style: Can be worn diagonally across the chest just like a traditional Search and Rescue radio harness, keeping the station stable, highly accessible, and off the waist.
MOLLE Back Panel Integration: The harness features a precise, laser-cut MOLLE back panel. By removing the shoulder strap entirely, the entire unit can be mounted directly onto a dive weight belt, tactical belt, duty belt, or MOLLE-compatible plate carrier/buoyancy vest.
Left or Right Hang: The bottom shoulder strap clip can be easily swapped to accommodate both left-handed and right-handed tenders.
3. Safety & Emergency Features
Quick-Release Buckle: The main shoulder strap features an emergency heavy-duty Fastex quick-release buckle, allowing the user to ditch the entire harness and intercom system in seconds if required during an emergency.
Over-PFD Fit: The shoulder strapping system is elongated and fully adjustable to comfortably fit over bulky personal flotation devices (PFDs) and drysuits.
Bombproof Construction
Built specifically for wet, abusive, and high-stakes maritime environments, the harness features premium materials:
Nylon Cordura: Highly abrasive-resistant fabric that prevents tearing when dragged or rubbed against boat hulls, docks, or rocky shores.
Waterborne Optimization: Designed to repel excess water absorption, making the system incredibly lightweight even when wet, as well as fast-drying.
Reinforced Integrity: Features precise laser-cut construction alongside welded, reinforced heavy-duty stitching throughout all major stress points.
