The SCUBAPRO 210D Nylon Safety Orange Surface Marker Buoys (SKU: 40.310.001 / SCU-40.310.001 [3.5 ft] & SKU: 40.312.001 / SCU-40.312.001 [4.5 ft]) are high-visibility delayed surface marker buoys (DSMBs) engineered for safety signaling, drift diving surface tracking, and safety stop deployment.
Constructed from heavy-duty 210D nylon with high-frequency (HF) radio-welded seams, these sealed-bottom SMBs feature a dual-inflation design with an over-pressure relief valve (OPV) to prevent expansion damage during ascent.
SCUBAPRO’s 210D Nylon SMBs provide a reliable surface visual marker for boat traffic, dive masters, and surface support crews. Built with a completely sealed bottom, they eliminate air spillage at the surface when wave action or slack line causes the buoy to tilt.
The dual-inflation mechanism allows divers to inflate the buoy using either a low-pressure inflator hose or orally via the metal inflation stem.
An integrated 42 mm over-pressure exhaust valve with a manual pull cord ensures that expanding air automatically dumps during ascent.

Made of durable bright orange HF welded PVC, this economical SMB (surface marker buoy) includes a 20' (6m) tether and clip. It folds compactly and stows in its own nylon pouch. The bag itself is fitted with a clip for attachment to a D-ring for quick and easy deployment. When inflated buoy is 51" x 6" (130cm x 16cm) and weighs 12.7 oz. (360g).

Operational Tips & Pro Tricks
LP Hose Inflation Technique: When inflating at safety stop depth with a low-pressure inflator hose, press the hose connection firmly against the metal stem while keeping the SMB held vertically above your head. Introduce short bursts of air—expanding gas will fully fill the buoy during its ascent.
Proper Stowing & Deployment: Roll the SMB tightly toward the bottom D-ring, wrap the integrated bungee loop around the rolled cylinder, and clip a double-ended bolt snap through the stainless D-ring to keep it compact inside your BCD thigh pocket or clipped to a rear harness D-ring.
Over-Pressure Valve Pre-Check: Test the pull cord on the lower OPV during your pre-dive gear check to ensure the spring valve seats smoothly and is free of salt crust or sand grains.
Post-Dive Maintenance & Drying: Flush both the interior air chamber and external valve assembly with fresh water after every dive day. Fully inflate the SMB orally and hang it upside-down in a well-ventilated shaded area to dry inside and out before rolling it up for long-term storage.
