Today the Nitrox Course is THE most popular continuing education course taken by divers, and with good reason. Nitrox is a breathing gas that has major benefits for both new and experienced divers, and it has become available at a wide variety of diving locations—on dive boats and at most dive shops throughout the US. This course covers the use of nitrox mixtures containing 22 to 40 percent oxygen.
Step 1: Academics - Self-study at your own pace via manual or online course.
Step 2: Classroom & Practical - A 1 ½ hour hands-on session with an instructor to review physics, gas analysis, and computer programming.
As an Open Water Scuba Diver, you are ready to expand your knowledge. The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course is the perfect next step, providing a taste of five different specialties under the supervision of a Divers Supply instructor.
How it works: You will complete a pool session to fine-tune weighting and buoyancy, followed by 5 certification dives. Two dives are core (Deep and Navigation), and the remaining three are electives based on your destination.
Required Gear: Complete Scuba Equipment, Knife/Cutting Device, Reel, SMB, Compass, and Dive Light.
The SDI Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop the skills to effectively perform diver rescues and administer first aid. This course not only makes you a better buddy but enhances your own self-reliance and comfort in the water.
