HOG Total Buoyancy Control System Package

By Jeff H on September 28, 2023

I was previously using cheap plastic buckle cam straps for JUSTOOP off of Amazon and holy s*** what an upgrade these Edge cam straps are. Night and day difference. Well worth the money and only costs about $10 more total for the pair. Thank you Divers Supply.

By Lawrence Bryan on May 18, 2024 Verified Buyer

Actually, I am not a diver. I stumbled onto your site when I was searching for a strap with a cam locking latch that had adjustable tension. I am using the product to secure a small LP fuel tank to a DIY support bracket for the tank on our camper van. It has fit the bill perfectly and I would recommend it for its designed use and some out of the box inventiveness..

Thank you for the Great Rating!

By Cotey Noble on September 09, 2025 Verified Buyer

This product is a great upgrade and is a lower cost option than the Scubapro or Aqualung quick lock products.

Thank you for the excellent feedback

By Alvin Agustin on May 07, 2019 Verified Buyer

I bought this as an accessory to my HOG TBS BCD. It feels more comfortable and stable when installed on the SS backplate of my BC.

The back pocket can tightly hold a 50lb lift bag. Naturally, the pad will bulge and feel harder when the liftbag is inserted in the the back pocket. This doesn't bother me but some people may find it little uncomfortable.

Thank you for your review, Roger! We're glad you love our Hog 5lb Drop Weight Pockets Small Pair. Have a great day!

By Albert on May 14, 2022

I have added these to my old BC which didn’t have them, and they were great.
I also used them on a rubber weight belt; I use it on a dive boat and borrow their weights.
I love the design, construction and price.
These are nicer than the weight pockets which came on a BC I recently bought for warmer water diving.
Hog makes good gear; I’ve used a lot since I began in 1964.

Prices are reasonable and I've never had problems with their service. Seems like a decent place to work with!

By Kenward Vaughan on December 05, 2018 Verified Buyer

Compared with other weight pockets I have seen, these do a very good job on my harness for less money. I got the 10 lb. versions this time because I want to use the extra space for storing some small items.
The method used with these works very well--the weights are securely held by the Velcro and there is minimal exposure of the loops to outside issues. It's nice having the zipper opening at the top to facilitate loading weights.
DS did a (usual) good job of getting them out to me promptly. Much appreciated!

I bought a HOG back plate (red), a HOG deluxe harness (black), set of HOG Tech II fins XL (red) and four HOG SS cam bands. I have added an Apeks single tank adapter to make it easier to manage mounting my 30cuft pony tank. I am absolutely hooked on HOG products now and will be back to divers-supply for more. I loved my Apeks RK3 find but now I exclusively use the HOG Tech II fins. Foot pockets are a bit small so buy 1-2 sizes larger than you normally would. Five stars to HOG and to divers-supply.

The product is well made and will work really well on my BPW. I would have given it 5 stars, but I went with 4 since it didn't ship with the hardware necessary to connect it to the BCD. I'm sure that's mostly on HOG for not including the BCD the proper BCD bolts and screws with the pockets, but they're kind of a critical piece and I'm sure most customers assume they'll be included.

DID NOT DIVE WITH IT YET. IT DOES HOLD MY FIRST AID MASK, MY REEL AND MY SAUSAGE, SO IT DOES HOLD ALOT. I LIKEIT SO FAR

By Thomas Lohmuller on December 06, 2023 Verified Buyer

I like the back pocket is just as large, if not even slightly larger than the Hog Large BCD Pocket, and you get a small front pocket for a spool. I found that my 100ft Hog Spool attached to the Hog 45in SMB that both can fit in the large pocket with a double ender.
This then frees up the front small pocket to be used for something else. I am currently putting my GoPro in there. It is attached with a coil strap and clipped off to my BC, but it fits perfectly in the front and is secure when I'm not using it.

I live in Canada and have placed a couple orders with Diver Supply and have been super happy with the site and the quick deliveries.
Overall, this BCD Backplate and Wing is awesome. I ordered the Aluminum (red) backplate and small weight pockets (adding two trim as well) with the Single Tank Adapter (STA) and steel tank buckles. I wasted no time trying it out. I stopped by the Macon store on my way back from diving the Florida Keys.
I had learned of the winged styled BCDs and stopped by looking for a Hollis BCD.
Diver's Supply's prices were as good or better on the Hollis than any I've seen, including the outlets in the Keys.
But the knowledgeable and friendly staff showed me the HOG, which had similarities to the Hollis I thought I wanted, and some other features I liked better. Despite being close to store closing time, the staff helped my with my purchase, and assembled the custom BC for me, adding custom options, asking me my set up preferences, and continued well past closing time. They were knowledgeable, friendly, and professional. I was blown away.
While talking with the guys helping me, I learned that some of them had been working there for nearly 40 years. My first mail order purchase from Diver's Supply was in 1986, and one of the founder's son's assisted assembling my BC. So much more than an online store. You guys have earned a customer for the next 31 years. Thanks again.
Finally, the BC seems fantastic... Everything I was looking for. I can't wait to get it in the water and will follow-up with and update when I do.

Thanks for the review! Please let us know if there is anything else we can help you with.

I was counting on the video provided to assist in figuring out the installation of this BCD. However the provided video on VIMEO has no sound. Difficult to follow without sound. Only issue I seem to be having thus far is that the shoulder pad is about 6 inches too long.

Searching for instructions.

We're sorry the video didn't work out for you! Please give us a call at 1-800-999-3483 extension 3 if there is anything we can assist you with in the assembly of your Hog BCD.

Took this for a hoon the last couple of weekends. I have been out of diving for sometime and wanted something flexible and functional and decided to splash out. The team was super helpful in helping me select what I needed. Came all setup, but as a note if you are setting it up yourself make sure you follow the videos and get the fit right as it is easier to do it when you are assembling than going back to change it later. The straps it comes with are quite long (esp the waste strap which I am going to cut down once I have settled on all my adjustments) Overall the product is really good quality and has been nice to dive with so far. Looking forward to using it a lot more.

Thank you for the review! We are happy to hear you are loving your new harness. If there is anything else we can do to assist you please let us know!

I’ve only used it once in a pool setting thus far. I have always been a traditional BCV user and this my first bp&w. I would recommend this product to anyone. New to the sport or looking to change out some gear. I have purchased several HOG products and am very pleased with the performance and quality. Some better than the high priced mainstream names. Way to go HOG.

Thank you very much for your review! We are glad to hear you are so pleased with your new HOG Total Buoyancy Package. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with in the future. Thank you again and happy diving!

I bought one of these for myself and my newly certified daughter in October 2017. This BCD has certainly made mastering the art of buoyancy control much easier. We have done about 15 dives with it and couldn't be happier. We could have spent a lot more money, but I can't imagine being more comfortable or confident in the water. You almost don't know you're wearing it underwater. Lean back at the surface and it is just as comfortable as your living room recliner. The guys at the Macon store are great and set ours up to fit perfectly. Before you buy any other BCD, you owe to yourself to go by the shop and at least try one on.

I was tempted to say best BC ever, but who knows what the team at HOG/Edge will come up with next. Anyway onto my review...

It has all the things I need when looking for a BC. It's completely customizable, it even comes with extra D-rings for adding attachment points if you want to. It fits like a glove when adjusted for my needs. Its lightweight but doesn't lack anything needed to achieve that. I highly recommend this rig for anyone that is ok with a single tank setup and likes to travel light.. I also have one of the hardplate models for the doubles but that doesn't always work when traveling and wanting to minimize space and weight, this rig fits that need perfectly. Once again, HOG delivers excellence at a price point below other gear with less functionality.

your staff was excellent. Talked to Jerry who was extremely helpful in making my decision not only on the item to purchase but from where I would purchase it.

The best dive store we’ve ever been to hands down !!! Great service and such a huge variety of anything and everything that you would ever need to go diving with.

Went to Divers-Supply looking for information on the HOG Total Buoyancy Control after seeing a video on youtube about the system. Guess what? I got to meet Bob from the video I had just seen. Excellent service!! He provided me with some pointers on all the gear I was purchasing and then some.
The HOG TBCD is great! Even with the tank on out of the water, it is very comfortable and to me, it distributes the weight very evenly. In the water, you can barely feel it is there if you assembled it and adjusted it correctly following the video or have it assembled by the store. I recommend that you give it a try.

I have been researching BCDs for a while. I picked the HOG TCBS, Ryan answered all my questions and helped me set it set up right. Next month I will get to try it out. I will post updates later.

Wonderful

By JOHN SCOTT CALABASH DIGGER on June 16, 2020

I have to say after 20 dives the BC has performed flawlessly! It is top notch quality! I have the 60 pound wing as I dive dark water rivers and have to dive heavy to stay down in the current. I have been diving 133 steel tanks on this unit and they are very secure on it. I had a Scuba Pro air 2 5thn installed on this BC by the guys at Divers supply and it is a dream to dive with! THANKS Divers supply ! John Scott AKA Calabash Digger

Talking about spending on SCUBA diving. I purchased the HOG Pro BCD Package last month. I made 6 dives in the Red Sea over the weekend Nd loved it so much, I came back to purchase the TBCS with soft plate!
The Good News is HOG Gear is asthetically beautiful equipment with the right amount of Black/Red anodized and stainless steel throughout the rig, and exceptionally affordable. I loved the composite/flex regulator hoses, and the smoked color adjustable 2nd stage.
The CONS: I should've done my research and placed more confidence in the wing style BCs prior to my multiple purchases.
...but I did like the colored LP flex hose as seen on Bob Collins' YouTube. Very Purty!
Recommend to make that an option to choose different color hoses.
Rec Diving appears to become more fashionable and color ...
Tec divers and keep it all black..

This is a super comfortable harness that allows a lot of customization as well as comfort when combined with a back plate. other harness you kind of learn to live with but with this harness its a vast improvement. I would recommend this to all divers

My buddy and I did a review video on our Hog Total Buoyancy Systems...https://youtu.be/iBv1rWLFWGQ

By JOHN SCOTT CALABASH DIGGER on February 04, 2020

My BC just arrived today and it fits like a glove...BTW I am a real big guy 5 FT 10 300 LBS and went with their biggest size at Mark's advice and he was dead on. I am really impressed with the quality of this BC mounted a Steel 100 to it and tried on in the house and it was dead on fit.

I will update this review when I get 20 tanks on this BC...Gonna dive it Thursday with my Pinnacle Black Ice Dry suit I bought from Divers supply. These guys are top notch!

I was a public safety dive team leader until a year ago. I quit safety diving when I couldn’t get out of another brands very high quality single strap harness system. This backplate with quick release traditional bcd straps is amazing. I look forward to many dives with it.

Perfect at a great cost. Why spend a grand or more on a vest BCD when this modular device works flawlessly? Yes, pushes your head forward at the surface, but hey... just lean back and lift up your knees.
