At the Divers Supply Professional Development Center your SDI Divemaster Course will be your first step into the professional level of SCUBA diving. As a Divemaster (DM) Candidate you will benefit from the mentoring and insightful guidance of our experienced staff to help you move into the major leagues of SCUBA diving.
To maximize your course benefit and reduce expenses you'll prepare for your Divemaster course while at home using your SDI world-class online independent study course.
During the 8-day Divemaster course, you will refine your SCUBA skills to demonstration quality and your innate diving abilities will be challenged as you become a true role model for other divers.
You will work with new divers as they experience the underwater world for the first time and help advanced divers as they expand their SCUBA knowledge and advance their skills. You will have the opportunity to guide and interact with new and experienced divers as they enjoy our amazing sport.
DivemasterCourse Prerequisites:
Minimum Age 18
Current Medical Examination (within the past 12 months)
Acquire all required SDI Divemaster instructional materials
Hold certifications for Open Water and Advanced Scuba Diver from a recognized agency with 40 logged dives and experience in: Deep, Underwater Navigation, Night and Limited Visibility diving.
Hold a Rescue Diver Certification from a recognized agency with current 1st Aid, CPR and O2 Administration (can be included within the DM program)
Expect to increase your knowledge to that of a Proffesional Divemaster in areas such as:
Diving Physics and Physiology
Knowledge of SCUBA Equipment
Professional SCUBA Training Skills
Personal Dive Techniques
Interaction with dive students and certified divers

SDI Instructor Course
Are you ready to begin introducing new divers to the world of SCUBA and help advance experienced divers to new levels?
Then becoming a SDI Scuba Instructor is your path to a rewarding dive career!
Your career begins with your Instructor Development Course/Instructor Evaluation (IDC/IE) at the Divers Supply Professional Development Center. Here you will master the art of SCUBA instruction while being mentored and guided by our staff of extremely knowledgeable and experienced Course Directors and Instructor Trainers.
During the IDC/IE you will acquire the knowledge and experience you need to safely function as a SDI Open Water Scuba Instructor. Upon course completion you will have the ability to teach SDI Open Water SCUBA Divers, Advanced Adventure Divers, Rescue Divers, Divemasters and Assistant Instructors.
Your 8-day course will consist evaluating and refining your SCUBA skills and diving abilities to the next level in order to reach Instructor demonstration quality as you become a premier role model for other divers.
IDC/IE Course Prerequisites:
Be a certified Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or equivalent in good standing from a recognized agency with at least 6 months diving experience
Have a minimum of 100 logged dives in a number of different environments with varying depths
Hold current Basic Life Saving certifications (can be included within the IDC program)
Minimum Age 18
Current Medical Examination (within the past 12 months)
The IDC/IE teaches the candidate how to:
General knowledge of SCUBA Instructor subject matter
How to prepare and teach academic sessions
How to conduct Confined and Open Water SCUBA skills sessions
Effectively utilize your SCUBA assistants
Increase emergency management abilities
Understand the business side of SCUBA diving
Successfully market and schedule your SCUBA training programs
The IE tests your understanding of what you learned during your IDC.

Divemaster Course
The SDI Divemaster course is the first professional level certification. During this course your diving abilities will be challenged and your Scuba skills refined to demonstration quality as you become a role model for other divers. You will learn to work with new divers as they experience the underwater world for the first time as well as Advanced divers continuing their education and developing their skills.

Requirements:
Minimum Age 18

40 Logged Dives to begin the course
Approved Scuba equipment for confined and open water dives and all SDI Dive-Master instructional materials.
Advanced Diver Certification from any recognized agency with dive experience in:

Successful completion of this program requires a significant personal commitment from each candidate as they make the developmental transition from Diver to Dive Professional. SDI Instructor Course
So you’re ready to be an Instructor and get the chance to introduce new divers to the sport of Scuba diving. The SDI Instructor Course will teach current Divemaster or Assistant Instructors the knowledge to safely function as an SDI Instructor with the abilities to teach SDI Open Water Scuba Divers, Advanced Adventures Divers, Rescue Divers, Divemasters and Assistant Instructors. The program is divided into two sections, an Instructor Development Course (IDC) and an Instructor Evaluation Course (IEC). The first section teaches the candidates how to properly teach and design courses, the second section evaluates the candidates teaching of open water skills.
The IDC teaches how to:
Schedule courses
Successfully market scuba
Conduct academic and in water sessions
Effectively utilize assistants
The IEC evaluates your understanding of what you learned during the IDC.
This is typically a two day evaluation process and tests your abilities in:
Preparing and teaching academic sessions
Knowledge of subject matter
Pool/confined water skills
Open water skills
Emergency management abilities
What do I need to start?
Be a certified Divemaster, Assistant Instructor or equivalent from a recognized agency with 6 months diving experience.
