This internal snap ring fits into a precision-machined groove inside the quick-connect port, locking the inner sleeve, spring, and seal components securely in place within the mask's accessory and hose coupling assemblies.

Tips & Tricks for Installation & Maintenance

Use Proper Internal Snap Ring Pliers

  • Always use clean, fine-tipped internal snap ring pliers to compress the M14 ring during installation or removal. Avoid using screwdrivers or picks, as slipping can scratch the internal brass/composite sealing surfaces or deform the ring.

Check for Full Groove Seating

  • When installing the new M14 snap ring, compress it just enough to clear the housing lip. Once inserted into the inner channel, rotate the ring slightly with your pliers to confirm that it has fully snapped into its 360-degree retention groove.

Inspect Internal O-Rings & Sleeve

  • While the snap ring is removed during service, inspect the underlying O-rings, bearings, and sleeve for grit, wear, or flat spots. Clean the internal groove thoroughly before installing the new snap ring.

Post-Dive Rinsing & Inspection

  • Soak the entire mask and quick-connect housing in warm, fresh water post-dive.
