Product Description

OTS Guardian M26 Visor Frame Screw Stainless Steel

The OTS Guardian Visor Frame Screw (M26 Stainless Steel Screw, SKU: 244105-000 / OTS-244105-000) is an essential OEM replacement fastener designed specifically for the Ocean Technology Systems (OTS) Guardian Full Face Mask (FFM).

This precision screw secures the rigid outer visor frame clamp around the silicone face seal and polycarbonate lens assembly, ensuring a uniform pressure seal to keep the mask completely watertight during dives.

The OTS Guardian M26 Visor Frame Screw may be a small component, but it performs a critical role in securing the visor frame assembly of the Guardian Full Face Mask. As an OEM replacement part identified in the official Guardian schematic as M26, it provides the proper fit, strength, and reliability required to keep the visor assembly secure and functioning as intended during demanding diving operations

The OTS Guardian M26 Visor Frame Screw (Part #244105-000) is a genuine OEM replacement fastener used in the visor retention system of the **OTS Guardian Full Face Mask (FFM). Identified as M26 in the official Guardian maintenance schematic, this screw secures the visor frame assembly and helps maintain proper positioning of the visor and frame components.

The visor frame is one of the most critical structural components of the Guardian mask because it helps retain the polycarbonate visor while maintaining the integrity of the mask assembly. The M26 screw plays an important role in ensuring that the frame remains securely attached during diving operations.

Manufactured to OTS specifications, this replacement screw is intended for maintenance, service, and repair of Guardian Full Face Masks used in recreational, commercial, military, scientific, and public safety diving applications.

Where is the M26 screw located?

According to the official Guardian schematic, the M26 Visor Frame Screw (244105-000) is the fastener used in the visor/frame assembly of the mask and is identified as Item M26 in the exploded-view parts breakdown. These screws help keep the visor securely fastened within the mask's structural frame system. The screw is associated with:

  • M4 Visor Assembly
  • M1 Lower Clamp
  • M2 Upper Clamp
  • Frame retention areas surrounding the visor opening

Features:

  • Genuine OTS replacement component.

Precision Engineering: Manufactured to exact factory tolerances to prevent binding, stripping, or uneven clamping pressure across the polycarbonate visor ring.

Corrosion Resistance: High-grade 316 stainless steel construction prevents galling, rusting, or seizing, even after hundreds of hours in marine environments.

Structural Reliability: Maintains critical clamping tension so the frame does not shift or open if impacted underwater or during surface entry.

Tips & Tricks for Installation & Maintenance

Uniform Clamping & Alignment

  • When reinstalling or replacing the visor frame screws, ensure the silicone mask skirt is sitting completely flush inside the frame track all the way around before tightening.

  • If replacing multiple frame screws, thread each screw in halfway first. Alternate back and forth between sides (like tightening lug nuts on a wheel) so clamping pressure is applied evenly across the lens.

Proper Torquing (Hand-Tight First)

  • Always start threading the screw by hand to ensure the threads align properly without cross-threading into the mating frame nut or insert.

  • Use the correct driver size to snug the screw down until firm. Do not over-torque, as excessive force can deform the polymer frame housing or crack the visor edge.

Thread Care & Anti-Seize Inspection

  • Inspect the threads for salt crystals, sand grains, or wear before installation.

  • Use a tiny dab of oxygen-compatible grease or manufacturer-approved thread sealant if recommended during full mask overhaul services to prevent salt lock.

Post-Dive Care

  • Soak the entire visor frame and screw recess in warm, fresh water after saltwater dives.

  • Trapped salt water around the frame screw pockets can cause salt crusting over time; gently agitate the mask in fresh water to thoroughly flush out all crevices.
