Designed specifically for demanding technical diving environments, the SCUBAPRO S-TEK Expedition Reel delivers exceptional durability, smooth line deployment, and reliable line management for cave, wreck, deep, and exploration diving. Inspired by the iconic styling of SCUBAPRO's legendary G250 regulator, this expedition-grade reel combines rugged construction with thoughtful ergonomic features to minimize snags and maximize control underwater.
Built around a marine-grade anodized aluminum frame, the reel features a fiberglass-reinforced nylon drum, stainless steel axle, and stainless steel hardware for long-term corrosion resistance in harsh saltwater environments. The reel's intelligently engineered design includes an anti-snag lock-down screw positioned opposite the line exit, reducing the possibility of line entanglement while improving operational ergonomics. An ergonomic anti-snag winder provides smooth, efficient line retrieval even while wearing thick technical diving gloves. For enhanced security, the S-TEK Expedition Reel incorporates an anti-release eyelet that helps prevent accidental removal of the included stainless steel bolt snap. The reel also features both an integrated stealth line cleat and a removable Torben-Loc line anchor, giving divers multiple options for securing the line end and preventing loss through the guide.
Available in multiple line capacities, the S-TEK Expedition Reel is an ideal primary reel for technical divers who require dependable performance during complex penetrations, navigation runs, and exploration projects.
Rugged Anodized Aluminum Frame: Constructed with a high-strength, corrosion-resistant marine-grade anodized aluminum frame, stainless steel axle, and hardware.
Fiberglass-Reinforced Nylon Drum: High-impact spool drum engineered to resist crushing or warping under tight line tension during long penetrations.
Anti-Snag Lockdown Screw: Ergonomic stainless steel tension screw situated away from the line exit path to reduce line snagging during rapid spooling.
Dual Line Anchor Systems: Includes both a stealth line cleat and a removable Torben-Loc line anchor to lock the line end outside the frame guide.
Visual Line Capacity Gauge: Marked drum indicator allows divers to monitor line deployment status at a glance.
Ergonomic Winder & Anti-Release Eyelet: Oversized anti-snag winder knob allows easy cranking with heavy gloves, while a dedicated attachment eyelet ensures the included stainless steel bolt snap stays secure

Operational Tips & Pro Tricks
Using the Torben-Loc Line Anchor: Always ensure the Torben-Loc anchor is snapped into the guide when storing the reel. This prevents the line end from slipping inside the drum frame, which can cause frustrating re-threading when wearing cold-water gloves.
Managing Tension During Deployment: Adjust the lockdown screw to add light drag when laying line. This prevents "over-spooling" or bird-nesting when swimming quickly during overhead navigation.
Locking Off at Primary Tie-Offs: When making a primary tie-off at a cave entrance or wreck opening, wrap the line around the tie-off object twice, then lock the reel using a quick half-hitch over the anti-snag winder before securing with the lock-down screw.
Saltwater Maintenance & Spool Rinsing: Soak the entire reel in fresh water after saltwater dives. Spin the drum while submerged to wash salt crystals out of the center stainless steel axle and tension screw threads to prevent corrosion binding.
