The SCUBAPRO Seahawk 2 Rear-Inflation BCD with Balanced Power Inflator (Base SKU Series: 22.142.X10 / SCU-22.142.X10) is a premium back-inflation buoyancy compensator designed for recreational, technical, and travel divers.
Combining the freedom of movement inherent to a rear air cell with the storage and comfort of a traditional jacket-style harness, it offers exceptional underwater trim and high lift capacity.
The Seahawk 2 refined SCUBAPRO's classic rear-inflation architecture by updating harness ergonomics, pocket access, and weight distribution.
By keeping the entire inflation bladder positioned behind the diver, the harness remains uncluttered and free of chest squeeze during full inflation.
Equipped with SCUBAPRO’s Balanced Power Inflator (BPI), the 22.142.X10 configuration delivers smooth, high-flow air control at all operating depths regardless of tank intermediate pressure.
This popular all-purpose BCD features an ergonomic shoulder design with rotating buckles and a soft, reinforced backpack – this makes the Seahawk 2 much lighter than its predecessor, and extremely easy to fold and pack. The stainless steel Super Cinch tank band is positioned a bit lower than before, and an additional Velcro strap has been added to secure the tank when diving. Other features include a 50mm waist strap with lightweight cam buckle, redesigned cargo pockets and a range of airway and valve fittings. Offering a streamlined shape yet substantial buoyant lift when needed, the Seahawk 2 is the perfect choice for divers looking for freedom of movement, comfort and stability when cruising the depths.
Ergonomic shoulder design with rotating buckles improves fit, helps distribute the load and enhances stability. Reinforced soft backpack with high-grip tank patch and inner padding add to comfort, reduce overall weight and make it easy to fold and pack. Super Cinch stainless steel tank band system is positioned lower and teamed with a second hook and loop strap to secure the tank for transport and diving. 2" (50mm) waist strap with lightweight plastic buckle lets you fine-tune adjustments for a perfect fit. Two large zippered pockets have been redesigned providing lots of cargo-carrying capability.
Built-to-last from 1000-denier nylon outer bladder and 420-denier nylon inner, with urethane laminate interior and radio frequency (RF) welded seams for maximum resistance to punctures and abrasion. High-quality air cell offers a streamlined shape when deflated and substantial buoyant lift when inflated. The BCD provides 54 lbs. (24.5 kg) of lift in all sizes. Soft neoprene neck roll and padded back pad enhance comfort during long dives.
Quick-release integrated weight pouches secure with low-profile buckles. Two rear trim pouches help create a comfortable swimming position. Pouches accommodate 12 lbs. (5.5 kg) each. Two rear trim pockets counterbalance front weights and provide a well-balanced swimming position with 10 lbs. (4.54 kg) capacity. There is a right shoulder and right lower rear over-pressure relief/pull-dump valves, both equipped with pull cords for ease of trimming buoyancy. Six stainless-steel 1.57" (40mm) D-rings, plus two additional 1" (25mm) D-rings for additional gear and instrumentation. BCD weighs 7.89 lbs. to 8.36 lbs. (3.58 kg to 3.79 kg) depending on size. The SCUBAPRO Balanced Power Inflator (BPI) is SCUBAPRO's flagship inflator control mechanism, standard across their premium jacket and back-inflation BCD series (such as the Hydros Pro, Seahawk 2, Level, and Bella). Engineered with a pneumatic balanced inflation valve, it provides smooth, consistent air delivery regardless of tank pressure or dive depth. Unlike standard unbalanced power inflators that require increasing thumb pressure as cylinder pressure changes or at greater depths, the SCUBAPRO BPI utilizes a balanced internal valve design. This ensures that pressing the inflation button yields predictable, proportional airflow whether your tank is at 3,000 psi or 500 psi. Its ergonomic housing fits comfortably in the left hand, featuring distinct tactile buttons for power inflation and manual/oral deflation.

Integrated Pin-Dump Cable Connection: Internal pull-cable assembly connects to the shoulder elbow dump valve, allowing quick pull-to-dump deflation by extending the hose downward.
Operational Tips & Pro Tricks
Micro-Adjusting Buoyancy: Because the balanced valve delivers steady airflow, light half-presses on the red inflation button allow precise micro-adjustments to establish neutral buoyancy without over-filling the air cell.
Pull-Dump Deflation Technique: To vent air quickly while remaining in a vertical swimming orientation, hold the BPI body firmly and pull straight down on the corrugated hose. This activates the shoulder dump valve without needing to raise the inflator head above your shoulder.
Post-Dive Internal Washing: Attach a garden hose or low-pressure fresh water stream directly to the oral mouthpiece while depressing the grey deflator button to flush salt water and debris from the internal corrugated hose and BCD bladder.
Pre-Dive Inspection: Before connecting your LP hose, depress the red inflation button to verify smooth spring return. A sticking button indicates salt buildup or worn internal O-rings requiring service.
