Place mask on face (no strap) and inhale through nose. If it stays put, you've got a great seal!

Wetsuit Tightness

Should feel "second-skin" tight on land. If it's easy to put on dry, it's likely too big for the water.

Fin Pocket

Always test with dive boots on. You want a snug fit with no "heel lift" when mimicking a kick.

Regulator Testing

Every regulator is bench-tested before shipping. If you hear a tiny "hiss" at the tank, check your O-ring first!

Computer Log Data

New computers are pressure-chamber tested. Don't worry if you see **1-4 test dives** already in the log—it’s a sign of quality!

BCD Air Traps

New BCDs can be stiff. If you can't stay down, practice using all your dump valves to clear air trapped in the folds.
