Product Description

Sea Elite Scout BCD

This jacket style buoyancy compensator is designed with light weight material and makes it a great choice for divers who travel by plane. Comes with integrated lock weight pockets a simple and easy to use weight system. The back is soft and padded and has a rear rubber area with a strong grip strap to safely attach the tank. Two generous zip up pockets allow stowing of even bulky accessories. On the back of the jacket two trim weight pockets allow for perfect distribution of the weights between these pockets and the integrated weight system. All the D-rings are made from a light weight resin material. Can be folded up so that it can be stowed easily. This very light structure and its anatomical shape make it a very tight-fitting and streamlined jacket once underwater and it offers very little resistance to forward movement.

  • Padded backpack with carry handle

The weight pockets are available at the following link. https://www.divers-supply.com/quick-release-weigh-pocket-version-5.html

I am 5’3” and weigh 133# my waist is about 32 1/2-33” . I have always had small bcd Do they run big or small. So what size should I get? Thanks

01/12/2022
Answered by Divers Supply 01/14/2022

I would go with a small one. These usually run true to size from the size chart.

You size chart does not show specs for XL BCD. I AM 6' TALL WEIGH 214 LBS WITH A 43" Chest and 42" waist. Would you recommend the L or XL for me?

07/29/2021
Answered by Divers Supply 07/30/2021

Hi Elwood, The provided size chart on the page states the X-large size is for some with a Height (ft/in) 6'2"-6'5" Weight (lbs) 195-240 Chest (in) 38-46 Waist (in) 41-46 Lift(lbs) 41

Is there any difference between this BCD and the EDGE Element? They seem to be EXACTLY the same and I'm trying to figure out why this one is slightly cheaper.

04/15/2021
Answered by Divers Supply 04/19/2021

The biggest difference other than cosmetics it the Edge Element has low profile dumps that have one way valves to keep water out. The Scout has standard dump valves.

I am buying for my granddaughter. She weighs 78 lbs. Not sure of waist size. will this xxxs bcd fit her?

04/22/2019
Answered by Divers Supply 04/29/2019

Hi Ron, thank you for your question on the Sea Elite Scout BCD. This product does not come in a XXXS, the Seac Ergo BCD does come in a XXXS. The Ergo is a jacket style BCD and is around the same price point.

How much does this BCD weigh? Specifically, an XL.

04/07/2019
Answered by Divers Supply 04/30/2019

Hi Ed, thank you for your question on the Sea Elite Scout BCD. The weight of the XL is 6lbs. Let us know if you have anymore questions and thank you for choosing Divers Supply.

Which size to order. My wife is wears in blouses medium and varies between size 8 - 10. 5'4"weighs 140 Lbs and has larger front. Should I order small or medium for her? Thanks,

11/26/2018
Answered by Divers Supply 11/30/2018

You should go by the waist measurement on the size chart. It is the most important measurement for this BCD. Waist (in) XS- 23-27 SM-28-31 MD-30-36 LG-36-40 XL- 41-46 XXL- 47-50

I am going to buy this bcd for a friend of mine. She is 5'2".......and weight is 90lbs. What size bcd should I buy her? And is this bcd unisex?

05/26/2018
Answered by Divers Supply 05/28/2018

Thank you for contacting us! These BCDs are unisex. I think the XS would be the best fit for her.

I see it has an integrated weight system and mentions weights in the description. Does it come with weights? if so, how many. Thanks.

12/06/2017
Answered by Divers Supply 12/07/2017

Thank you for your question! Unfortunately no, though the Sea Elite Scout BCD does have an integrated weight system, it does not come with weights. Weights (hard or shot) are sold separately. I hope this helps! Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with in the future. Thanks again!####Thank you for your question. The Sea Elite Scout BCD does not come with weights however, they are available in the weights and belts section of our website. I hope this helps. If there is anything else we can do for you please let us know. Thanks again

What size would best suit me for the Sea Elite Scout Bcd? 5'10"... 182 lbs, thanks

07/08/2017
Answered by Divers Supply 07/10/2017

For most people, you can go by what size shirt you wear. Sounds like you would probably be a Large. It can be a little difficult to size perfectly based on just height and weight, but almost all of the straps on this BC are adjustable to fit.

How much does this bcd weigh?

06/11/2017
Answered by Divers Supply 06/12/2017

The Sea Elite Scout BCD weighs depending on the size between 5 to 7 lbs.

Is this the same product that had a recall in May 2011? "The spring in the over pressure valve can corrode and break preventing the buoyancy control device from retaining air, posing a drowning hazard to consumers."

04/19/2017
Answered by Divers Supply 04/20/2017

Thank you for your question. The Sea Elite Scout shares the same name with the BCD from 2011 but has gone through several redesigns since then. There are no current recalls on any scout bcd's being sold. I hope this helps. If there is anything else we can do for you please let us know. Thanks again

What size inflator hose is needed? I see many lengths.

11/29/2016
Answered by Divers Supply 12/05/2016

The Inflator hose is included with BCD standard is 26 inches.

Good Product

By Charles Kay on February 20, 2015

Just did 20 dives with the Scout BCD that I recently bought. It is well constructed and I had absolutely no difficulties with it.It fit well and was comfortable. It's nice that it has an integrated weight system with drop-able and the Non-drop-able weights. The Non drop able are located high in the back of the BCD and general weight balance is very easy and nice. It has very nice zip pockets in easy to get to areas with plenty of space to store flashlights and other stuff. And the whole package is pretty compact and doesn't weight too much. I was easily able to get it , my reg package and most of my other dive gear in a flight carry on bag.

Excellent Value, Comfortable Fit

By Matthew Snyder on July 03, 2015

I purchased a complete kit including this BCD. After several dives I am very impressed with the quality. The fit is true and very comfortable. Integrated weight system is excellent. Two ditchable pockets in the front and two non-ditchable trim pockets on the back. I have had no problems with trim, buoyancy or lift with this BCD. Even includes a very nice tether for your flashlight or other tools in one of the zipper pockets. Highly recommended if purchased in a kit.
