Maximize Your Dive Time!
Today the Nitrox Course is THE most popular continuing education course taken by divers, and with good reason. Nitrox is a breathing gas that has major benefits for both new and experienced divers. Nitrox as a norm has become available at a wide variety of diving locations--on dive boats and at most dive shops throughout the US. This course will cover the use of nitrox mixtures containing 22 to 40 percent oxygen.

The Computer Nitrox Certification Course is done in 2 easy steps:
Step 1: Academics
Can be done with either a manual or online course. This is a self-study session done at your own pace.
Step 2: Classroom and Practical
Upon completing your academics you will join your instructor for about 1 1/2hrs of review and for a hands-on session to help build upon academics. You will learn how Nitrox is stored, blended, analyzed and logged, as well as how to handle your nitrox cylinders and program a nitrox computer.

Advanced Adventure Diver Course

As an Open Water Scuba Diver you are now ready to expand your knowledge and experience. The SDI Advanced Adventure Diver course is your next step!

This is a great course and will give you a taste, of five different SDI specialties, under the supervision of your Divers Supply instructor. As with your Open Water course, the Advanced Adventure course is done in 3 easy steps.
Step 1: Academics
Completed as a self study via a manual or on-line course.
Step 2: Knowledge Quest Review + Pool Session
Your instructor will discuss the finer points of the information included in your academics. You will conduct an advanced buoyancy specialty skills session in our indoor heated pool. This session will help fine tune your weighting and buoyance skills in preparation for your open water dives. At the conclusion of this session your instructor will discuss with you what you can expect during your checkout dives.
Step 3: Schedule your Advanced Adventure dives
Of the 5 dives required for certification, two are from core specialties, Deep and Navigation Diver. These are the foundation of continuing diver education. The 3 remaining dives are chosen by you and your instructor based on your open water dive destination.
Course Prerequisites:
All 5 certification dives will be conducted with your instructor, who will convey the hands on knowledge required to be a competent Advanced Adventure Diver.

Rescue Diver Course

The SDI Rescue Diver Course is an exciting course designed to help develop your knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and administer necessary first aid. This course not only makes you a better dive buddy, but it enhances your own skills and makes you a more self-reliant diver.

The Rescue Diver Course is completed in 2 steps:

Can be done with either a manual or online course. Once completed you will meet with your instructor for a classroom session to review and expand upon what you have read.
Step 2: Pool and Open Water Skills Session
This is where you will learn the techniques for effective buddy and self-rescues as well as problem management and administering first aid.
Some of the topics you can expect to cover are:
Self-rescue, diver assists, surface and underwater rescues, prevention of dive accidents, hyperbaric management, accident management, liability considerations, missing diver searches and many more.
Upon completing your SDI Rescue Diver certification you will find an increased level of personal awareness and comfort in the water. The Rescue Diver certification also qualifies you to enroll in the SDI Master Diver program and the SDI Divemaster course.

Specialty courses are a great way to experience a new realm of diving while under the supervision of a dive professional. During your course, your instructor will provide detailed dive briefings and plenty of advice to help you succeed in your selected specialty. Your instructor will also help you select any additional gear required to successfully conduct your specialty dives.
What to expect from your specialty course:
Your specialty course will start with at-home academics completed at your convenience. Many of the course academics are provided in an online eLearning format, making it easy to access the materials at any time. After completing your at-home academics, you will meet with your instructor for a classroom session to review and fine-tune the knowledge you have acquired at home. Finally, you will conduct your in-water training under the guidance and supervision of your instructor—where you will put all your new knowledge to use underwater!
Upon completion of each specialty course, you will receive a newly earned certification card!

SDI Advanced Adventure Diver Course
You’ve completed your open water scuba diver course and now you’re ready to expand your knowledge and experience. The Advanced Adventure Diver course will give you overview dives from five (5) selected specialties. Two of the specialties, Deep and Navigation Diver, are the foundations of continuing diver education.
Other specialties may include:

- Marine Ecosystem Awareness
Full Specialty Courses
New divers as well as “old salts” find many different areas of interest in the underwater environment. Using a Dry Suit in colder waters or a Diver Propulsion Vehicle in warm Caribbean waters may interest you. A few of the specialties include:

Rescue Diver Course
The SDI Rescue Diver Course is an exciting course designed to help develop your knowledge and necessary skills to effectively perform diver rescues and administer necessary first aid.
Through Self-Study, Confined Water practice and Open Water scenarios a few of the skills you will learn are:
- Perform self rescues
- Buddy rescues
- Help tired divers
- Recognize and calm potential panicked divers
- Rescue uncoincious divers at the surface and underwater
- Administer proper First Aid
- Conduct effeective search patterns
- Manage accident scenes
After completing the SDI Rescue Diver Course and 50 dives, you can apply for SDI Master Scuba Diver or start in the professional ranks and sign up for the SDI Divemaster Course.
